Stay Busy = Stay Healthy

Answer the following question honestly…

How often are you bored?

Think about the activities you engage in when you are bored. If you are like the majority of people you most likely will fill times of boredom with choices like lounging (lack of movement,) snacking (consuming food that is not a part of your meal plan,) or mindlessly watching something on a screen (wasting time that could be spent learning something new.) These choices play a huge role in negatively impacting your mind, metabolism, strength/mobility, and aesthetics over time. Participating in the following activities will not only help with your health and fitness, but also can also play key roles in slowing down the aging process.
Here are 3 solutions to boredom that, in turn, can have a positive impact on most goals related to health and fitness.

– Learn Something – Learn something new such as a new skill

– Move Something – Other than sleeping, avoid extended periods of time with no movement. Stay moving throughout the day. This can be done with exercises, activities, hobbies or even just “getting out of the house”

– Create Something – Build your body, something for your house, or a gift for someone

*Some of these areas overlap. For example learning a new exercise can satisfy all 3 of these.
